Designer's Comments
Seka was designed as a heavy workboat and tender to Island Eagle. Her lines originated with a smaller dinghy (10 foot) designed by Louis Kromholz in 1934. I really liked this shape, with flare forward and lots of tumblehome aft. I scaled the shape up, added a full keel, deepened the hull to add displacement, and totally revised the sheer to arrive at Seka. Her backbone is laminated Fir, with African Mahogany planking riveted to Oak frames.
