    • Construction: Sheathed-strip planking over plywood bulkheads
    • General Comments: 23' trailerable centerboard schooner, modeled after the schooner yachts made popular by John Alden. Gaviota’s interior includes a vee berth forward, unfortunately split by the foremast, with a head under the aft end of the berth.  On the Port side is an additional berth/seat which extends aft under the cockpit.  The tiny wood stove is midships next to the ladder, and a counter with sink is on starboard outboard of the hatchway.  She is a tiny boat but construction hours will be high because she carries every feature of much larger vessels, only the pieces will be small.

One of several small boats designed to be built at the Silva Bay Shipyard School by a team of students.  A trailerable centerboarder, she is modeled after the schooner yachts made popular by John Alden.
