    • Comments:

Though not recognized as an Arthur DeFever design, Vaquero is a very close sister to a series of DeFever Offshore cruisers built by Mauricio in the sixties and seventies.

The really stunning thing about the boat is the almost perfect condition of her hull planking; at 38 years of age she requires little more than new paint. While her original hull is immaculate, the deckhouse, roof, and interior were poorly done, perhaps quickly to meet delivery or budget pressure. Her owner felt she was worth a complete overhaul, and thus has completely gutted the interior and removed some tanks, generators, and all systems from the boat. Starting with installation of hydraulic stabilizers and bow thruster, the boat will be completely up-dated and a whole new interior with revised arrangement will be built. While this is a major undertaking, the result will be an all new vessel ready to take on another 50 years of cruising and entertaining.
